About Torrie

To all WCW fans out there the image of toned and fit Torrie Wilson is not a rare sight. A former fitness model and a former Ms. Galaxy Florida 1998, her first brush with the wrestling world lead to her role as one –half of the one of the most dynamic pairs in Wrestling today.

Born on July 24, 1975 in Boise, Idaho, she describes herself as being shy growing up, something that she overcome over the years. She was a cheerleader and dancer and was active a track and field athlete in school. Interest in modeling in her second year of high school led her to visit modeling agencies, most of which advised her to lose a few pound before she can be considered, something that later lead to bouts of bulimia and anorexia, which lasted until she was 20 year old. In pursuit of a healthier lifestyle, Torrie began focusing more on fitness and working out and soon afterward began winning a string of fitness competition awards.

She moved to LA to pursue an acting career in 1998. On a 1999 visit to watch a WCW show in Los Angeles with her boyfriend, she was requested by Scott Steiner to walk with him to the ring. This would lead to a deal with WCW and soon after, her first role as a valet for David Flair.

Soon afterwards she landed a role as Billy Kidman’s valet, known as Pete Gruner in real life. The two travelled together and worked in the WCW as part of the Filthy Animals, as well a developed a romantic relationship together.

Problems with the company in 2000 surfaced however, which led to Torrie’s departure from WCW.

WCW was eventually bought by WWF, and CEO Vince McMahon brought her in as part of the WCW invasion. She joined the Alliance and teamed frequently with Stacy Kibler , as well as acted as the manager for Tajiiri. In 2001 she was among the WWE Divas Bahamas photo shoot and was on the front cover of the December issue of RAW. Other magazine appearances included a feature on WWE Divas 2008, and she also appeared in several videos, among them the Tropical Pleasure Video and WWE Divas Undressed Special.

Torrie also has colorful Playboy career, having graced the cover of the magazine twice. She was the cover for the May 2003 issue of the magazine, an issue that sold over a million copies. After a feud with former Playboy model Sable, Torrie began acting as the valet for Billy Gunn. Soon afterwards, she and longtime partner Billy Kidman tied the knot in July 2003. In 2004 both she and Sable appeared in Playboy for the Playboy Evening Gown Match, where they fought against Stacy Kibler and Jackie Gayda. Another Playboy rivalry ensued in 2006, this time with Candice Michelle, fellow RAW wrestler. Torrie managed to win the women’s title from Victoria, who sided with Candice Michelle in the rivalry , with her trademark move the ‘Nose job’. She was later found unconscious after the fight with the Playboy issue with Candice on the cover on top of her.
